The award-winning FAIRDAY returns to Hyde Park as a part of FRINGEWORLD in 2016.
Staged again in the picturesque Hyde Park, right in the heart of the City of Vincent, FAIRDAY will again be our community’s favourite day of the year.
Featuring live entertainment, heaps of great stalls, delicious food options, entertainment for the kiddies and our much loved dog show, FAIRDAY will be an event you just won’t want to end.
Bring your own picnic lunch, or grab a bite from our pop up vendors. Alcohol will not be on sale, but you can BYO if you drink responsibly.
Entry is only $5 and free for Pride WA members and children under 16 years of age.
SHADE & MISTING MACHINES
We’ve listened to feedback from last year and we’re investing in shade cloth and beach umbrellas to complement the natural shade from the trees in Hyde Park. We’re also erecting shade domes, and running a 45 meter commercial grade misting machine alongside the edge of the grassed area to cool down the natural breeze.
Hyde Park is always a few degrees cooler than anywhere else, and our misting machine is designed to make it one of the coolest outdoor places to be this Sunday. You are also welcome to bring your own beach umbrella!
AMAZING FOOD OPTIONS
This year’s FAIRDAY is sure to delight all of your senses. We’ve just about got them all covered! We’ve got sights, sounds, touch, and now, taste!
We are hosting seven of Perth’s most enticing portable kitchens, food trucks, barbecues, woks and even some gourmet desserts.
First up we’ve got Perth food festival favourite, Bangkok Jump Street, who are taking the time out of their busy market schedule to be with us at FAIRDAY. These Thai street food geniuses will be catering to everyone’s needs, from super spicy to vegetarian and everywhere in between.
Soul Provider is a portable kitchen run by Vital Syverin, who originates from Haiti, where food is at the centre of every celebration. Their philosophy is to make the most of the fresh seasonal ingredients to create innovative and soulful food.
Marcelita’s Colombian Empanadas and La-Fuente are both bringing the flavours of South America to FAIRDAY this year, with something for everyone’s taste buds.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the bright orange Luscious Liquids trailer that will be pumping out 100% natural juices and slushies for everyone to enjoy, on what is going to be a warm and sunny FAIRDAY.
And for dessert we’ve got the coolest treats in town, La Paleta. Inspired by traditional Mexican paletarias, these icy delicacies are a great way to cool off this Sunday afternoon.
Plus, you can bring your own picnic delights, as well as BYO drinks, to enjoy.
Fun and fabulous! That’s what you can look forward to on the main stage at FAIRDAY 2016!
