As a community, arts and cultural organisation, it is Pride WA’s mission to promote and encourage the community, culture and artistic expression of all people of diverse sexuality and gender living in Western Australia, and to provide a platform for the celebration of that community, their culture and talent as they continue to champion their rights and freedoms.
Pride WA recognises the unique and important position of Australia’s First Peoples and pays respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Owners and Elders, past, present and emerging. Pride acknowledges their cultures are complex and diverse and the vital contribution that their traditions, and cultures have made, and continue to make to this country.
Kaya Wandju Wandju means ‘Hello and Welcome’ in Noongar language belonging to Aboriginal Australians from the south-west corner of Western Australia.
