PARADE APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Event Date: Saturday, 23rd November

Pride WA’s Pride Parade is a platform for LGBTQIA+ groups to celebrate who they are and to communicate a message relevant to the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as for non-LGBTQIA+ organisations to communicate a message of support for LGBTQIA+ people.
All entries must be an accurate representation of the details supplied in their application form.
All entries must not be discriminatory, homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, incite hatred or breach any defamation law. Entries will not be accepted from organisations who have demonstrated any of the above in previous Parades or in their general business.
All entries must meet the messaging, operational, safety and sponsorship guidelines set out by Pride WA. Pride WA reserves the right to refuse participation from entries that have breached Parade regulations in previous years.

The PrideFEST Parade is a community event and celebration. Pride WA have strict guidelines for business and/or corporate participation within both Fairday and Parade. If you intend to apply as a business or corporate organisation, please ensure you contact pride@pridewa.com.au before submitting your application.

Please Note – only one organisation is permitted to be represented per application/entry. If you wish to apply for an exemption (and have two or more organisations participate in the one float) please contact pride@pridewa.com.au. Additional fees apply for multi-organisational floats.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Submit your completed Parade Application Form online by 5pm 1st September 2024.
  2. The Parade Sub-Committee will assess all applications based on the below selection criteria:
    • Meeting the eligibility and conditions of entry
    • Ability to plan and deliver the creative concept safely
    • Benefit and relevance to LGBTQIA+ communities
    • Relevance to the PrideFEST theme
  3. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their entry by 13th September 2024.
  4. Submit the Parade Participant Details by 3rd November 2024. This form will be sent to all participants via email at the time of application approval.
  5. Successful applicants must also attend the Parade Entrants Briefing session on Tuesday, 12th November at 6pm. This session is mandatory for all particpants (group leader and float marshal. The Pride WA Parade team will review logistics, safety regulations and other important information, as well as provide the necessary registration and accreditation paperwork required for the event day.

ENTRY FEES?

Pride WA charges a small fee to participate in the PrideFEST Parade, which goes towards covering some of the operational costs of the Parade. Fees are set according to the organisation type.

Community Group$175.00Sporting groups, social groups, and other member organisations that do not receive funding.
Not-For-Profit$550.00Not-For-Profit organisations that receive funding to assist with operations. This also includes charities, service providers, and large community groups.
Small Enterprise$550.00Sole trader, partnership, or small companies with an annual turnover of less than $250,000.
Government Organisation$1000.00Local governments, state government departments, government subsidiary organisations, and state government institutions.
University & TAFE$1000.00Public and private secondary education organisations.
Large Enterprise$1320.00Sole trader, partnership, large company, or corporate organisation with an annual turnover greater than $250,000.
Please Note – Parade entry fees are payable on application. Should your application not be approved, you will receive a full refund by 13th September 2024.
